Could I have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)?

 

Syptoms:

  • You have shortness of breath.
  • An ongoing cough or a cough that produces large amounts of mucus (often called "smoker's cough")
  • Shortness of breath, especially with physical activity
  • Wheezing (a whistling or squeaky sound when you breathe)
  • Chest tightness

 

 

Risk Factors:

  • You smoke.
  • You are exposed to pollutants.
  • You have a family member who has COPD.

 

 

Why it's important to know:

 

COPD is the 4th leading cause of death in the United States!
